Education
Amanda Roberts was born and raised in Northern Michigan, where Amanda’s family continues to live. Her parents own and operate their family owned business Robert’s Restaurant (which has been continually family owned for forty (40) years) in Boyne City, Michigan. After graduating from Boyne City High School, Amanda relocated to Hillsdale, Michigan, to attend college.
Amanda received her undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College, where she majored in political science. While attending Hillsdale College, she participated in many community activities including creating community Christmas baskets, volunteering with Michigan Youth in Government and the Salvation Army, International Club, and many civic minded organizations.
Upon graduating from Hillsdale College, Amanda began attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Throughout her time at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, she participated in many activities including: moot court, moot court judging, mock trial, Phi Alpha Delta, Lansing Teen Court, community Christmas baskets, and volunteering with the Salvation Army. Amanda was a member of the Dean’s List and graduated in the top half of her law school class.
While attending law school, Amanda also attended Baker College where she received an Associate Degree with a focus on marketing and management.
In 2012, Amanda travelled to Atlanta to complete nationally recognized training to be a parenting coordinator to further her practice of law and to expand into the changing market to assist families in the State of Nevada. Each year, Amanda participates in various Continuing Legal Education Classes (“CLE”) to stay up-to-date on changes in Nevada family law.
Work Experience
Throughout undergraduate school, Amanda worked for her family’s attorney, Mr. Thomas Schraw, Esq., and was able to gain valuable experience in various fields of law including family law and criminal defense. Amanda was afforded the opportunity to prepare exhibits and demonstrative evidence for trial and sit second chair. It was while working for Mr. Thomas Schraw, Esq., that Amanda learned the importance of good client relations and how to be effective at trial.
Amanda had the opportunity to work for a prestigious family law attorney firm located in Las Vegas. While employed with the firm, she was able to practice in every department of Clark County Family Court in cases involving child custody, child support, termination of parental rights, adoption, alimony, and domestic violence. Amanda managed a full case load, which allowed her to prepare and attend trials, evidentiary hearings, motion hearings, and mediation.
In 2010, Amanda opened Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group with her husband, Jason Stoffel. Since that time, Amanda and Jason have continued to be practice primarily in the area of family law. As the laws of changed, Amanda has taken the opportunity to work not only as an attorney, but as a parenting coordinator. Amanda has been Court appointed to work with families in Clark County to reduce conflict and get on the right path to co-parenting. Amanda has also been appointed by the Court to act as a Guardian Ad Litem for minors and adults. Amanda had the opportunity to be selected to sit Pro Tem related to orders against domestic violence and was on the bench for a number of days during the Christmas holiday a few years ago.
Personal Interests
Amanda is a family person. She is extremely close to her parents and extended family members. Amanda’s family often comes from the Midwest to spend time together. Amanda’s sister and her family live locally, and Amanda loves to spend time with her niece and nephew. Amanda and Jason often travel with her extended family including to one of their favorite spots in Florida. During the summer, Amanda and Jason are often hosting events at their home because Jason is a barbecue fanatic. Additionally, Amanda and Jason frequently attend concerts and local activities.
